Where did you first get confused or stuck? What were you trying to do at that moment?
I felt confused in the beginning, as I didn't know what buttons to press in order to perform the actions. I pressed on all buttons until I found out which one does each action. Also, in the Main Menu, I couldn't use my gamepad, only the mouse worked for me, same when I paused the game, I couldn't use the gamepad, only the mouse. Also, for the intro scene, I think a button that we have to press for Skip would be helpful.
How did the difficulty of the early combat feel? Was there a spike or anything that felt unfair?
I played on Easy Mode and it really felt easy, the combat was very easy for the first monsters, then it started to get a little bit harder as I advanced, the problem was that I didn't know how to perform the dodge properly, it worked only a few times.
How did the controls feel with a gamepad? Was anything imprecise or uncomfortable?
The controls felt decent, I think an icon of the button we have to press for each actions below the in game icon would be a great feature, as I kept forgetting which one does what and I had to guess from time to time. I don't know if it was a bug for me or if this is the early build limitation.
When you chose equipment, did you understand what each piece did and how they differed?
At first, I didn't know how to equip it, I think a mini unskippable in-game tutorial from Umi for example would be great. I am not sure that I understood each one, but I think the shield stands for defense, the heart for the heart bar and so on.
Was there anything on screen you didn’t understand, such as an icon, number or menu?
I didn't know what the little plants/flowers/loot did or what they were for. The icons for the equipment upgrade were a thing I didn't understand and also how to upgrade Umi.
Would you keep playing after these 25 minutes? Why or why not?
Yes, I would keep playing it, I am curious and I want to find out more about the secrets on the map and also about the farming and side quests, but I would prefer a more polished version to keep me more engaged, as I didn't find some things intuitive and this might make me want to stop playing for a longer period in one go because I have to keep searching for buttons or how to upgrade things.
