Stellar Nursery is an idle game by PortiaPlays, published by Portias Publishing LLC, and this is its free demo. The loop starts with a dead sun: you click the star to gather stardust, build an Array that keeps generating resources while you are away, and seed the inner planets from bare rock to living worlds, with the game saving automatically and counting the time between sessions. The demo holds one complete stellar generation, from first light to the collapse, covering Mercury, Venus and Earth, plus five unlockable themes and the first chapter of the novella the story is drawn from. Tucked inside are five working toys: a tape deck with a radio, a two octave piano with secrets, a harmonograph, a double pendulum and an Ulam spiral. It plays in the browser and on Windows and Mac, and a Steam demo runs during Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26.
