The racing is 2D drag racing in the arcade tradition: manual gear shifts, throttle control and launch timing decide a duel that lasts seconds. Between races the garage is where the depth is, with engine swaps, turbo upgrades, gear ratio tuning and visual modifications, a fleet you can buy and sell, and fuel to manage across a campaign against the city's champions. Online multiplayer and global leaderboards sit beside the story, and a gamepad is fully supported. IndieGameStudio released PixelTorque on Steam in early access on September 3, 2025 for Windows at $9.99, with an Android version available and iOS announced.
