Fribble - Nine Grid

The daily Nine Grid word puzzle Nine Grid is a daily word game built around a simple 3×3 grid of letters. Find words, manage the life of each tile, and keep the board alive for as long as possible while you chase the highest score you can reach.

Every word you make changes the state of the board. Used letters eventually disappear and are replaced from a shared daily letter stack, while unused letters gradually lose lives too. The result is a word puzzle that rewards both vocabulary and careful decision-making.

How to play Build words of three or more letters using the letters currently available in the 3×3 grid. Select the letters you want to use and submit your word to score points.

Each letter starts with a limited number of lives. When you use a letter and its lives are exhausted, that tile is removed and replaced with a new letter from the daily replacement stack.

But the board is constantly changing. After each word, unused letters also lose a life, so leaving useful letters sitting on the board for too long can be just as dangerous as using them.

The goal is to keep finding words while managing the limited supply of letters.

Keep the grid alive The replacement stack is shared across the entire puzzle. Whenever a letter runs out of lives, the next letter in the stack takes its place.

This means that the early part of the game is about finding words and building your score, while later turns become increasingly important as the available replacement letters run down.

Once the replacement stack is empty, exhausted letters can no longer be replaced. From that point on, every letter that dies permanently reduces the options available to you.

Keep finding words until the board can no longer produce a valid play.

Score bigger words Nine Grid scores you based on the value of the letters you use, with additional bonuses for word length. Finding longer words is therefore an excellent way to build your score quickly, especially when you can combine valuable letters into a single play.

The challenge is deciding when to take a high-scoring word and when to preserve useful letters for future turns. A word that scores well now may leave the board in a difficult position later.

The best results come from balancing immediate points with long-term survival.
