Make music and battle! Don Bass Idols is a rhythm duel on nine pads, and the song can be your own: write one in the built-in step editor, or load a MIDI file or a recording, then battle on it. Songs you write or load as MIDI can be hosted online for a friend. Two melodies fight inside one song: tap yours in time and every hit heals you; eight hits in a row throw an attack at your rival and block the one coming at you. Attacks land on your pads as traps, so keep your fingers off the red ones. Empty your rival's bar, or have the higher score when the song ends. Choose from sixteen chibi stars, each with one trick and one weakness, and play your Shadow, a friend on the same screen, or a friend online with a room code. A quick, interactive lesson shows you the timing before you start, and the menus follow your device's language.
Touch or mouse: tap the pad when the ring closes on it — not early, not late. Keyboard: Q W E / A S D / Z X C, laid out like the pads (the pads show the letters of your own keyboard). Two players on one keyboard: the second player uses U I O / J K L / M , . or the number pad. Pause: the II button, or P in single player. New to it? A hands-on "How to play" lesson (on the title and in Settings) demonstrates the timing and lets you try it.
