The Ascension system allows you to restart portions of your progression in exchange for permanent bonuses, creating an ongoing long-term progression loop.

Distant Shift can be played actively using the game's on-screen controls, but automation systems also allow your expedition to continue progressing as they are unlocked.

Offline progression means your expedition can continue generating progress even while the game is closed.
